3rd Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge

WHO and partners are staging the third edition held in Geneva of the Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge. The event will serve as a healthy kickstart to the 73rd66顺彩票app World Health Assembly, which also starts on 17 May 2020.

66顺彩票appThousands of people from Geneva and members of the global public health community have taken part in the first two editions of the event organized by WHO, in conjunction with Geneva and Swiss authorities and a wide range of partners. The 2020 edition is expected to be even bigger.

The event will be a celebration of health and a platform to promote the need for all people to have access to health services. The event will provide a platform for health champions to demonstrate how they are striving to promote and protect the health of people in their own way.

2020 is an important year for several major health themes, which will be given particular attention during the Walk the Talk Geneva event.

As 2020 has been designated as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, special recognition will be given to the role of health workers. In addition, 2020 makes the start of the Decade of Healthy Ageing66顺彩票app, and the Walk the Talk event will serve as a reminder of the need to take action to improve the lives of older people, their families, and the communities where they live.

What is on offer?

The event will offer routes of difference distances for people to take in any way – walking, running, wheelchair. The aim is to get people moving for their own health and that of others. There will also be music, interactive displays and more.

Aims of the event

  • 66顺彩票appTo raise awareness and profile of the work and goals of WHO and other global health agencies based in Geneva, highlighting the city’s role as a global health capital in improving global health.

  • Engage World Health Assembly delegates, the UN family and the Geneva community in a celebration of healthy lifestyles and ensuring all people can access the health services they need.

  • Continue promoting the global Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge movement to promote health and particularly physical activity as part of a healthy sustainable future.
